According to Farr Yacht Design President, Shaughnessy …the weight limits that were once difficult to achieve during VOR 70s building are now “easy to reach”.
Said he, “Last time you were working out how to subtract and how you could whittle things down, whereas now the challenge is how you are going to spend the rest of the weight you have left over.”
Methinks other VOR70 designers shared this FYD thinking and so now there needs to be a rethink on that weight-saving strategy! These are not round-the-buoy harbour sailers after all.

Is Abu Dhabi pulling into Puerto Montt also? There hasn't been any updates about them lately.
