A new set of keys for Cammas
Franck Cammas is the new Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid ambassador. The skipper of Groupama sailing team and winner of the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12 has been handed the keys of the world’s first rechargeable diesel hybrid at the opening of Paris Motor Show.
"After contesting the Volvo Ocean Race, one of the most prestigious but most demanding races in the world, alongside Volvo, our great adventure could not stop there"- Franck Cammas
“I am proud and honoured to be the ambassador for the Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid,” said the French skipper. “After contesting the Volvo Ocean Race, one of the most prestigious but most demanding races in the world, alongside Volvo, our great adventure could not stop there.”
The new model is an “all-in-one” car that can run on electricity, on fossil fuels and as a hybrid.
“Franck Cammas boasts one of the most impressive track records in the world," said Pascal Bellemans, CEO of Volvo Automobiles France.
“His performance, in triumphing over the English and Americans at the last Volvo Ocean Race, made a powerful impression on us. We are very pleased to welcome him to the bosom of the Volvo family.”
“Whether in the sport of sailing or the world of cars, the quest for excellence and perfection brooks no compromise,” added Cammas. “That is what Volvo and I have in common – and the V60 Plug-In Hybrid is the best example of this, especially for CO2 emissions.”
