As official suppliers to both the Volvo Ocean Race and the Boatyard, Harken will play an integral role in this year’s race. Harken manufactures deck hardware, winches blocks and gearboxes in Pewaukee, Wisconsin USA and Limido Comasco, Italy. Harken carbon fiber racing winches, TTR2 Air® blocks, CRX roller bearing travelers, and Battcar systems equipped the Volvo 65 fleet in 2014-2015 and are onboard again in 2017 and 2018.
Again at race maintenance stops this time around, The Harken Tech Team—a grand-prix pit crew assembled from Harken offices around the world, will be at work in the Boatyard servicing each of the Volvo 65s to exacting one-design specifications.
