    1. One of Britain’s most successful sailors, Walker earned his first Olympic silver medal at the 1996 Atlanta Games and won another in Sydney four  years later. The father of two girls has also skippered and managed two America’s Cup campaigns and coached Shirley Robertson to an Olympic gold in 2004. He had his first Volvo Ocean Race experience as skipper of Green Dragon in 2008-09 and is confident he has a much better chance of victory this time with a better funded team and a new boat.

    1. Satterthwaite is a former America’s Cup winner with Alinghi in 2007 and finished second in the Volvo Ocean Race in 2005 with Pirates of the Caribbean. The 38-year-old Kiwi has taken on the mentor role to Adil Khalid, the 23-year-old Emirati sailor on board, as well as his countryman Butti Ahmed Al Muhairi, currently part of the shore crew.

Morgan heroically jumped into the water to cut Abu Dhabi’s mast free when it came crashing down on Leg 1 of the 2011-12 edition.
