Gottifredi Maffioli has always been one of the most innovative rope manufacturers in the world. They were the first to make climbing ropes from Nylon, used by the Italian expedition that conquered K2 in 1954, and the company is still run by members of the Maffioli family today – more than 90 years after it was founded by Maria Gottifredi in 1926.
From manufacturing the first Nylon fishing net in the world, the company moved into the world of yacht racing, where it is now a market leader and a reference point for high technology ropes. Gottifredi Maffioli has long been linked to great sailing challenges. Its products are used extensively, not just onboard the Volvo Ocean Race fleet, but also in the America’s Cup, the Route de Rhum and the Vendée Globe.
